DIAlux evo training is essential for the worldwide standard in lighting design software and available to anyone involved in planning for indoor and outdoor lighting, emergency lighting, road lighting and realistic visualisation.
Iain Macrae is an experienced user and trainer for DIALux evo software, offering training as part of organised courses through the Lighting Industry Academy (click for course availability and pricing) and available for you to join in a group as an individual, or for companies to have training delivered on-site for design teams.

DIALux evo Foundation
(1 day, recommended for all)The DIALux Evo foundation course is designed to take delegates through the basic use of DIALux Evo. You will learn about setting up simple projects to obtain simple lighting design outcomes, including: –
- Working with image files and CAD drawings
- Single and multiple rooms
- Evaluating illuminance in line with EN 12464
- Creating rooms and buildings and lighting them using regularly spaced arrays of luminaires
- Printing drawings and reports as outputs
Delegates will experience the software live working along with the tutor using worked examples. The tutor will answer questions and solve software related problems during the workshop.

DIALux evo Intermediate
(1 day)The DIALux evo Intermediate course builds on the foundation and will introduce attendees to more detailed settings of the software, including:
- emergency lighting,
- calculating with daylight,
- working on complicated building designs including multiple interlinked stories,
- use of 3D objects with simple Boolean operations
- importing BIM files
- detailed maintenance assessments,
- Ray tracing
- Scenes
Delegates will experience the software live working along with the tutor using worked examples. The tutor will answer questions and solve software related problems during the workshop.

DIALux evo Advanced
(1 day)The DIALux evo Advanced course builds on the intermediate and will introduce attendees to advanced functionality of the software, including:
- detailed daylight design,
- energy monitoring,
- complex grids and lighting calculation,
- exterior and road lighting design through to complete site design,
- complex Boolean operations and 3DS file use,
- setup of templates and outputs (DIALux subscription required).
Delegates will experience the software live working along with the tutor using worked examples. The tutor will answer questions and solve software related problems during the workshop.

DIALux evo Foundation with Lighting Design Fundamentals
(2 days), essentially the Foundation level course, but as we come across lighting definitions in the software, the tutor will explain the concept in detail from the science of lighting, taking time to ensure you have a basis in lighting knowledge as well as in the software.
